1st Paragraph of American Time Capsule

November 16th, 2011 by Natalie Bernabe · No Comments · Uncategorized

Images are moments in time that we can reflect back on, while paintings can reflect the artist’s imagination of a scene or idea. The impact one feels while viewing a painting or image is the same, however; we are visualizing what the photographer or artist is portraying to us.  In the American Time Capsule, we were bombarded with a  fast-paced slideshow of images and paintings, all focused around events, people, and places throughout the course of American history. We have to strain to focus our eye to catch mere glimpses of important people in American history, such as our Presidents, or events that took place in the past, such as the Civil War. These images are also incorporated in time with the music, which is a set of drums beating rapidly. How does the rapid pace give us an idea of what the hosts of the American Time Capsule sought to portray to us?
